Do I Need a Ghostwriter?
If you’ve thought about writing a book but:
- You’re not sure how to get started
- You don’t know how to structure your manuscript
- You’re too busy to write it yourself
- You’re unsure about your publishing options
… then working with a ghostwriter can help you bring your book to life.
How Do You Work with Clients?
Every ghostwriter works differently. Here’s how I typically collaborate:
- Initial Fit Conversation – We start with a conversation to make sure we’re a good match.
- Contract – If we decide to work together, we sign a formal agreement.
- Book Development – We co-develop your project: clarifying your message, defining your target reader, creating a working title, and building a detailed chapter-by-chapter outline. (Usually takes 1–3 months.)
- Interviews – Using the outline as a guide, I interview you to gather the book’s content. (Usually takes 2–3 months, depending on your availability.)
- Writing & Revisions – I write the book one chapter at a time. You review each chapter and provide feedback before we move on. (Timing varies.)
- Final Manuscript – By the end of the process, you’ll have a polished, publishing-ready manuscript.
How Much Does It Cost?
My ghostwriting fees start at $65,000 for a 40,000–50,000-word manuscript. My rates vary depending on the project timeline, research required, and the manuscript length. Please contact me for a quote.
Billing: 20% is due at contract signing, with the remainder billed monthly over the course of the project.
How Long Does It Take?
Most projects take about one year from contract signing to completed manuscript.
The timeline depends on:
- Your availability for interviews
- Turnaround time for chapter feedback
- Number of revision rounds
Is Traditional Publishing the Goal?
For many of my clients—healthcare executives, consultants, and thought leaders—self-publishing is a strategic choice. It offers several advantages:
- Ownership of Your Message: Traditional publishers accept only a small fraction of submissions and tend to prioritize commercial fit over subject-matter expertise. Self-publishing lets you stay true to your message, audience, and goals.
- Speed to Market: In a fast-changing industry like healthcare, timing matters. Traditional publishing can take years. Self-publishing can get your book into readers’ hands in as few as six months after the manuscript is complete.
- Creative Control: From cover design to final edits, self-publishing gives you full authority over how your book looks, reads, and reaches your audience.
I primarily work with authors who plan to self-publish—and I deliver the same high level of quality you’d expect from a traditionally published book.
Can You Help Me Find a Publishing Services Provider?
While I don’t offer publishing services, I can refer you to trusted providers to help with book design, formatting, printing, and distribution.
Do You Offer Book Coaching?
In a coaching relationship, the book coach provides structural guidance (the author and the book coach would typically develop a detailed outline of the book together). Then you (the author) write the manuscript (typically chapter-by-chapter), and I provide feedback and editing. I accept book coaching projects on a case-by-case basis. Please contact me to discuss your book coaching project.
Do You Write Blog Posts, Articles, White Papers or Website Copy?
Not at this time. I’m fully booked and currently only taking on book ghostwriting projects.
